The more people talk about my pinned thread of threads as a "mini-course" on modern American political history, the more it bugs me that it's not arranged in chronological order. So, here it is, with threads sorted together by era.

I’m taking a break for Twitter, through the holidays at least, maybe more. It’s a busy, stressful time of the year and Twitter seems to be adding nothing but anger and anxiety these days. So I’m going to take a break and catch my breath. See you all in the New Year.

"Too often I’m running into too many students who don't know anything about real history and stuff like that, because teachers spend too much time indoctrinating students about political things..."--Rep. Alicia Lekus (Republican)

"Too many journalists are caught in a mindless neutrality between democracy and its saboteurs, between fact and fiction. It’s time to take a stand." Amen, . Amen.

READ THIS. The “name” of the bill says it all. “Loyal” teachers won’t teach history critical of the US. No “subversive” ideas. Right out in the open, folks. ‘Teacher Loyalty’ bill would restrict how U.S. history, esp. racism, can be discussed in school

You can't "both sides" something when one side constantly lies.

With about 10 days to go before the Texas filing deadline for 2022 elections: Democratic candidates have filed in just 3 of the state's DA races, while GOP candidates have filed in 22 DA races.

We should just come right out and say it: The conservatives on the Supreme Court lied to everyone. My latest:
